Why I Love Being a Leadership & Life Coach (And the One Question That Changes Everything)
There’s a moment I witness often in my work — a quiet, almost imperceptible shift — when someone realises they’ve been living a few degrees away from who they truly are.
Not completely lost or broken. Just… unsure, on the cusp of something, but slightly overwhelmed or confused and unclear how to proceed... sort of 'dimmed'.
And then something happens. A sentence or question in the coaching session lands. A truth gets named and is heard. There is a moment to breathe and let the implications sink in.... and in that moment, a part of them they’d tucked away steps forward again.
That moment — that reclamation of confidence, visibility, identity, and self‑expression — is why I love being a coach. It's beautiful and empowering and sobering all at once!
The work I do isn’t about “fixing” people
It’s about helping them remember themselves and have the guts to be that person. Most people come to coaching because they want clarity, confidence, or direction. But underneath those desires is often something deeper:
a longing to be seen
a desire to feel powerful in their own skin
a hunger to express who they really are
a quiet ache to stop shrinking and start shining
I love this work because it’s not surface-level. It’s not about productivity hacks or perfect morning routines. It’s about identity and stepping into the version of yourself you’ve always sensed but haven’t fully claimed.
It’s about becoming the most fully expressed version of you — in your work, your relationships, your leadership, your creativity, your life.

Why this work matters
When someone steps into their confidence and visibility, everything changes:
They speak up in rooms they used to shrink in.
They make decisions from grounded clarity instead of fear.
They stop apologising for taking up space and having a view of the world
They start leading with presence instead of performance.
They reconnect with the part of themselves that knows exactly who they are.
And the ripple effect is enormous: their children feel it, their teams feel it, their partners feel it, their creative work feels it, their future feels it. But most of all - they feel it. Watching them operate from this space is magic - they not only have a quiet confidence about them, they hold themselves differently, command their space differently and seem to have a new found internal strength, clarity and certainty about them.
This is why I love being a coach. Because when someone steps into their identity, they step into their life.
One powerful coaching question you can use today
Here’s a simple but transformational question I use often with clients — one that cuts straight through noise and self‑doubt:
“Who is the version of you that already knows what to do?”
Not the anxious, self-doubting overthinking version. The version of you who is:
grounded
clear
confident
fully expressed
unapologetically themselves
Ask yourself:
What would they choose?
How would they speak?
What would they stop tolerating?
What would they step toward?
What would they no longer apologise for?
This question shifts you from fear to identity. From hesitation to clarity. From shrinking to stepping forward. It’s simple yet powerful. And it works. Next time you feel out of your depth or need a quick reset, give the above a try.
If this resonates…
This is the heart of my work. I’m a leadership and life coach, and I specialise in helping individuals step into their confidence, visibility, and identity so they can become the best, most fully expressed version of themselves.
